Qualifications

  • National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business Administration
  • Postgraduate qualification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) advantageous

Experience

  • 58 years in procurement/supply chain, preferably in mining, heavy equipment, or manufacturing
  • Technical familiarity with engineered components, technical drawings/BOMs
  • ISOâ?¯9001 QA/Inspection for outsourced products/services
  • Proven team management and technical support capabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for key material categories
  • Coordinate and manage procurement activities executed by your team
  • Identify and assess suppliers to minimise risk/cost while enhancing quality and service
  • Oversee supplier audits, capability evaluations, and corrective action collaborations with Engineering
  • Drive continuous supplier performance improvementscost, quality, delivery, innovation
  • Manage the full procurement cycle: orders, confirmations, deliveries
  • Maintain ERP procurement data: lead-times, MOQ, pricing, validity, supplier records
  • Review and update procurement policies and procedures
  • Report on procurement metrics: cost savings, delivery, quality
  • Prepare costing & delivery schedules for tenders/quotations
  • Align purchases to BOMs for optimized end-item procurement
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities via strategic sourcing, alternative materials, value engineering
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis
  • Lead annual supplier price negotiations
  • Coach procurement technicians to meet KPIs, fostering continuous improvement culture
  • Interface with departments to interpret reports, confirm data needs, and validate outputs
  • Ensure compliance with ISO policies and company procedures
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks as required
