Logistics Manager - Papua New Guinea

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage the transport department, including scheduling 120+ weekly deliveries and collections (feed, fuel, finished goods, and general cargo).
- Manage both company-owned trucks and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
- Supervise unloading operations and coordinate with planners to execute feed unloading schedules efficiently.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and work with suppliers to identify and resolve issues related to vehicle use, routing, and fuel management.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and manage logistics personnel, including drivers and unloading teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Implement and maintain vehicle and equipment audit checklists; coordinate with workshop management on repair and maintenance schedules.
- Review fleet capacity and specifications to match transport demand, and liaise with suppliers to procure new assets and equipment when required.
- Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance, efficiency, and safety.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic logistics and transport plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
