Chief Information Officer

Stellenbosch - My client, a well established Fruit Exporter based in Stellenbosch is seeking to employ a Chief Information Officer to build and lead the Information Systems and Technology teams of the company.Purpose of this role:As digital becomes a core competency, the CIO plays a key leadership role in all the critical strategic, technical and management initiatives. This scope ranges from information security to customer experience and leveraging of information within a Enterprise Architecture framework.Key Performance Areas:Development and implementation of Strategy (Business and IS&T)Development of appropriate IS&T Strategy aligned to business strategyBe part of the process to develop the business strategyProvide input to this process on how technology can be used to enhance business value proposition (innovation)Represent the IS&T capability as part of the Executive TeamDevelopment and implementation of the appropriate Enterprise Architecture Framework and tools to support the IS&T Strategy:The Enterprise Architecture represents the capability (output) of the the company's IS&T capabilityElements include:Business Architecture (includes Governance (Policies and procedures) and Risk management)Application ArchitectureInformation ArchitectureTechnology Architecture (including security management)Program Management:Manage entire set of IS&T projects from proposal to completionResource management (people and finance)Prioritisation (facilitated through Steercom)Feedback and reportingSourcing Management:Implementation and management of the skill sourcing strategy for IS&TWill be a combination of permanent (internal), contracted and 3rd party supportFinancial Management:Development and management of IS&T BudgetOperationalCapitalProjectsFinancial management will include the purchase management as per company's policies and proceduresRequirements:B.Comm Hons Information Systems (Minimum)Senior Management development courses / diplomaProven track record as part of Senior ManagementExecutive Teams for medium to large organisationsmanaging the IS&T capabilityHave a good background and knowledge of the SouthAfrican fruit supply chain and the associated information elements contained within it.Have a very good knowledge of information and business technologies with a specific focus on Enterprise Architecture concepts, methodologies and frameworks, and with the relevant experience and track record.Need to illustrate: Fruit industry background in conjunction with IS&T best practice and evolution (non-fruit specific)Very strong program management capability.Multiple sets of complex projects running at the same time within the capabilityNeeds to be a visionary, pragmatic and adaptable to drive the digital transformation initiatives of the companyCurious and able to build relationships in order to establish strong trust between the architecture community and its stakeholders
