Planning Manager (Operations)

Coordinating and directing the company's production planning in line with sales and operations requirements and constraints. Managing warehousing, logistic, and transport requirements to achieve company objectives. * Examine sales forecasts, align production capabilities to forecasts, and determine exports stock quantities * Determine budgets for both the sales and production functions, and ensure stocks (working capital) are managed for short, medium, and long term targets Key accountabilities: * Design, implement and run the sales and operations planning process to ensure sales, production, and logistics constraints are managed * Determine when the production line needs to change to manufacturing campaigns of alternative products for sales to adjust export volumes in line with these campaigns * Examine sales and production inputs, to ensure alignment with budgets and highlight any risk effect of deviations of actual sales and/or production on the business * Use the sales and production forecasts to determine requirements to augment capacities with imported products impacting short, medium, and long term planning based in line with company strategy * Develop robust SAP/APO Planning and Material Management governing policies, processes, and procedures in line with agreed best practices and manage adherence to these * Maintain master data to ensure accurate and effective business transacting and integration within the SAP System and between different business functions within the Group * Develop the planning team's capability to understand the manufacturing processes and complaints and effectively plan SAP / APO planning system Requirements and Skills: * Tertiary qualification - Industrial Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations / Production Management * SAP and WMS working experience * SAPICS Certification * Manufacturing and operations process working experience * 10 years in production operations planning environment * 5 years managerial experience leading a production planning function * Strategic and global supply, demand, and production planning experience *Desired Skills: * * SAP * Process Mapping * Production Planning * Budgets * Demand Planning * Integrated Business Planning * Export Planning * Production Cycles * APICS * SAPICS * Working Capital * Material Management * Master Data * Production Forecasts * Manufacturing Processes * Deviations * Sales Forecasts *Desired Qualification Level: * * Degree *Employer & Job Benefits: * * Provident Fund * Death and Disability * Medical Aid * Car Allowance * Fuel Allowance
