Role Summary:

Responsible for designing computer networks and the security architecture, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, perimeter and endpoint protection as well as other data communications systems. Creates, tests, and evaluates networks and security solutions and architecture.

Must have experience with cyber security, managing firewalls and identifying possible risks and establish preventative measures to ensure information, systems and environments are safe, monitored and effective.

Primary responsibilities:

• Analyse business requirements to develop technical network/security solutions and their framework
• Design, test, and inspect infrastructure architecture solutions
• Perform infrastructure modelling, analysis, and planning
• Install hardware such as cables, hubs, routers, and wireless adaptors
• Set-up and configure the infrastructure architecture
• Develop technology roadmaps
• Configure network drivers for software
• Analyse, engineer, and execute software functions
• Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects
• Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors
• Determine production direction
• Write requirements/specifications documents
• Assess vendor development/test strategies
• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
• Upgrade network hardware and software components as required
• Solve complex problems with many variables
• Reviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements
• Conducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network security
• Developing project timelines for ongoing system upgrades
• Ensuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and role
• Establishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drills
• Promptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses
• Experience in managing a team of network engineers
• Responsible for their deliverables, KPI’s, appraisals, and HR processes

Experience and Qualifications:

• 5 + years in similar / same role
• Information Technology qualifications with a specialisation in Networks / Security
• CCNA / CCNP / CCDE / CCIE
• Extensive experience in Firewalls (Fortigate / Fortinet Experience)
• CyberOps
• NSE4, 5 and 7
