Duties and Responsibilities:

Role Definition:
The primary function of a Crate Controller is to ensure that all empty crates are offloaded from the vehicles and stored in the crate storage area.
Key Responsibilities:

• Hygiene Standards
• • Keep the crate storage area clean at all times
• Crate controlling
• • At start of shift, ensure all crates are stacked in the crate storage area
  • Crates to be stacked 20 high
  • Remove all damaged crates according to company standards
  • Spray paint damaged crates and stack them on top of container
  • Remove all crates that do not belong to Sunshine Bakery and segregate from Sunshine crates
  • Assist van assistants to offload the empty crates when the vehicles return to the bakery
  • Stack all empty crates on trolleys and store in crate storage area
  • Remove dirty crates and give to crate washers
  • Ensure that crate washers always have sufficient crates to wash
  • At the end of shift, ensure crate storage area is left clean and tidy
  • Lock crate storage area when it is at maximum capacity

• • Crate Controller to always be friendly, helpful and respectful towards customers
• General
• • Crate controller may be required to assist in any aspect of the business from time to time as required, including but not limited to loading of trucks
  • Obey all reasonable instructions given by Dispatch Clerks and management
  • Obey all company health and safety regulations according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
