Job Profile: Weighbridge Operator
Reports to: Weighbridge Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Weighbridge Operator is responsible for precisely recording all incoming fibre and outgoing pellet loads at the Coega Biomass Centre. The role ensures that deliveries align with dispatch documentation, that fibre is sent to the correct storage location, and that all weighbridge records and administrative tasks are completed accurately. The operator also assists yard operations by monitoring vehicle access and communicating any discrepancies or quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and record all incoming fibre loads accurately on the weighbridge system.
- Ensure that fibre deliveries are allocated to the correct store or warehouse location.
- Scan, inspect, and verify incoming fibre loads and communicate any issues with the Weighbridge Supervisor.
- Complete and verify fibre documentation confirming that the material received matches the dispatch documentation.
- Compare order numbers and barcodes with delivery documentation to ensure accuracy of deliveries.
- Report fibre discrepancies to the Weighbridge Supervisor
- Monitor and control access of all incoming and outgoing vehicles at the weighbridge.
- Meet visitors upon arrival and inform the person being visited.
- Maintain accurate administrative records of all fibre deliveries and dispatches.
- Communicate effectively with yard operations regarding fibre movement, quality concerns, and operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- PSIRA Grade C will be advantageous
- Previous experience in a weighbridge, logistics, or administrative environment will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of stock control or logistics processes.
