About Us:

We are a consulting civil and structural engineering firm providing project management and consulting services to public and private clients nationally.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Civil Technologist / Civil Technician to join our Civil Design Team. You will assist Engineers and Technologists with civil design, CAD production, technical reports, site inspections, and client meetings. The role combines office-based design work with periodic site attendance and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce civil engineering drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD/Civil 3D (or equivalent).

Assist with design calculations and produce documentation for roads, stormwater, sewer, grading, and site development.

Prepare engineering details, schedules, material take-offs, and quantity estimates.

Support technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.

Attend client and municipal meetings; record minutes and follow up on action items.

Conduct site inspections, surveys, and as-built verification; prepare visit reports.

Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, sub-consultants, and contractors.

Ensure compliance with South African standards, municipal guidelines, and environmental requirements.

Maintain accurate project files, CAD layers, templates, and standard details.

Assist with cost estimating, programming, and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

1–2 years’ experience in consulting civil engineering.

Proven experience producing civil CAD drawings (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred).

Familiarity with South African standards (SANS) and municipal requirements.

Practical site experience and ability to perform inspections.

Skills & Attributes:

Strong technical drafting and design skills.

Understanding of civil engineering principles (stormwater, sewer, roads, earthworks).

Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office; exposure to GIS or Revit advantageous.

Clear communication; comfortable presenting at meetings.

Organized, able to manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Team player with initiative and problem-solving mindset.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites across the region.
