CFO / Senior Financial Manager (Renewable Energy I

Overview
A growing organisation within the renewable energy and construction sector is seeking a
commercially minded finance professional to join its executive team.
This role is suited to a Senior Financial Manager ready to step into a CFO-level position,
rather than a long-standing career CFO. Executive leadership will provide strategic
guidance and mentorship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial leadership, governance, and
oversight across the business, supporting strategic growth, project profitability, and
long-term sustainability.

Duties
• Provide strategic financial input to support business growth and expansion
• Oversee the full finance function, including reporting, controls, and compliance
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements
• Implement and maintain financial governance and internal control frameworks
• Oversee financial performance of construction and project-based environments
• Drive cost control and profitability across projects
• Support commercial decision-making with financial analysis
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Contribute to risk management and financial strategy
• Lead and mentor the finance team

Requirements
• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification (essential)
• 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience
• Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or
equivalent)
• Significant experience within construction, EPC, infrastructure, renewable
energy, or similar project-driven sectors
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects valued between
R50 million and R1 billion
• Strong commercial acumen and project finance expertise

programmes
