Description

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing and expanding sales of our vacuum pumps, blowers, and pumping solutions across a broad range of industrial sectors throughout Africa. While most sales activities will initially be handled locally, there is the potential for customer visits into Africa in the future, so openness to travel is important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing African customer base
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across Africa
  • Provide technical sales support and solution-based selling
  • Prepare accurate quotations, including:
    • Freight and logistics
    • Export documentation
    • Payment terms and credit considerations
  • Maintain strong long-term customer relationships
  • Work closely with internal technical, logistics, and support teams
  • Build market presence and increase brand awareness in Africa

Industries & Customers

You will work with customers across a wide range of sectors, including:
  • Wastewater treatment plants
  • Municipal and industrial wastewater facilities
  • Mining operations
  • Food and beverage manufacturers
  • General manufacturing and heavy industry
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Other industrial applications

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical or industrial sales
  • Strong understanding of mechanical or electromechanical products (vacuum pumps / blowers / pumps ideal)
  • A balance of hunter mentality and customer service excellence
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with technical customers
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with export or international sales, including:
    • Incoterms
    • Freight calculations
    • Export documentation and cross-border payment terms
  • Prior exposure to African markets
  • Willingness to travel into Africa in the future (not currently required)
Export sales experience is not a deal-breaker training can be provided for the right candidate.
