Key Responsibilities: Collect, process, and manage spatial data from various sources including satellite imagery, field surveys, and geological reportsConduct spatial analysis and modelling to assist in the identification of geological features such as faults, mineral deposits, and landformsCreate detailed maps and visual representations of geological data for use in reports, presentations, and planningWork closely with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists to integrate spatial data into geological models and decision-making processesParticipate in field surveys to collect GPS data, geological samples, and ground-truthing for spatial data accuracyUse GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo to generate 2D and 3D models and visualizations of geological dataPrepare and present reports, maps, and data interpretations to management and stakeholdersAssist in environmental impact assessments, resource management, and land use planning by interpreting spatial dataEnsure the accuracy and integrity of GIS data through regular updates and verification processesUse remote sensing techniques and imagery to analyze land cover, geology, and environmental changesMinimum requirements:Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or related field with a focus on GISProficiency in using GIS software like ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, or similar tools for spatial data analysis and mappingProven experience in GIS and Remote Sensing data and software such as ENVI, or ERDAS IMAGINE, ideally in the mining sectorProven experience in mineral exploration and natural resource managementStrong understanding of geological concepts, including stratigraphy, mineralogy, and geophysicsAbility to manage large datasets and ensure data integrityAbility to produce high-quality maps and visualisations for diverse purposesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret spatial and geological dataStrong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting findingsWillingness to participate in fields data collection and sample analysis
