What you will be leading
- Running and supervising both the workshop and wash bay
- Managing a team: hiring, training, scheduling, delegating
- Overseeing repairs & maintenance on tautliner and tipper trailers
- Ensuring every job card, work order and database entry is accurate
- Enforcing strict health & safety standards
- Inspecting equipment, machinery and the entire workshop environment
- Maintaining quality, productivity and cleanliness at all times
- Rolling up your sleeves when needed, tools in hand
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Qualified Mechanic / similar trade
- 2+ years experience in a transport/logistics workshop
- 2+ years hands-on experience with tautliner and/or tipper trailers
- Medically fit and willing to work overtime/weekends
- Strong, respected leadership presence
- Deep experience working on tautliner and/or side tipper trailers
- A qualified mechanic background (or similar)
- Ability to remain calm, decisive and organised under pressure
- Clear communication verbal, written and technical
- Confidence operating workshop machinery
- A mindset focused on safety, structure and results
Work Environment
You will spend around 80% of your time in the workshop, 20% managing wash bay activity.
