Technical Draughtsman â?? Mineral Processing

About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Draughtsman with 5+ years experience to join our engineering and design team in Pretoria West. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in translating process-engineering concepts into detailed CAD drawings and manufacturing documentation for mineral processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings of process equipment, components, and assemblies (e.g., cyclones, screening media, conveyors, mill linings)
• Interpret and convert process flow sheets, engineering sketches, and metallurgical design input into accurate engineering drawings
• Collaborate closely with process engineers, metallurgists, and project managers throughout the product development lifecycle
• Produce bills of materials (BOMs), fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for manufacturing
• Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering change requests (ECR) or field feedback
• Ensure all drawings comply with Multotecs technical drawing standards, tolerances, and quality control procedures
• Support procurement and manufacturing teams with technical clarifications or design support
• Participate in design reviews, cross-functional projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or equivalent
• 5 or more years of proven experience as a Draughtsman in an engineering/manufacturing environment, ideally in mineral processing, mining, or heavy equipment sectors
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Experience with engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs, revision control)
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and assembly techniques
• Excellent attention to detail, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team
• Knowledge of mining or mineral processing equipment is a strong advantage
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently
