Electronics Quality & Validation Engineer (Automot

Key Responsibilities

• Defect Detection & Analysis: Perform visual and technical inspections to identify manufacturing defects, including mura (clouding), dead/stuck pixels, color shifts, and luminance inconsistencies.
• Functional & Stress Testing: Execute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and bench tests to verify touch responsiveness, boot times, and interface stability under extreme conditions.
• Environmental Validation: Conduct "Automotive Grade" reliability tests, including thermal cycling (high/low temperature), humidity, and vibration testing to ensure screens don''t fail in real-world driving environments.
• Root Cause Investigation: Lead investigations into failed components (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis - FMEA) to determine if issues stem from the hardware, software, or supplier manufacturing process.
• Supplier Quality Management: Review and approve supplier test plans and First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure incoming batches meet your companys quality threshold.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain detailed test logs and compliance reports in accordance with automotive standards like ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and IATF 16949

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized display testers.
  • Knowledge of display technologies (LCD, OLED, TFT) and common optical defects.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with testing and simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe, or LabVIEW.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate technical failures clearly to cross-functional team

Preferred Experience

• 35+ years of experience in automotive electronics or display manufacturing.
• Certifications such as ISTQB (for software/functional testing) or Six Sigma (for quality process improvement).
• Previous experience working with Tier 1 automotive suppliers (e.g., Bosch, Continental, LG Display)
