Apprentice Technician

Position: Apprentice Technician

Our client, an industrial automation and robotics company, is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Automation Technician to launch your tech career!

Location: Pretoria
Salary: R17,000 - R22,500
Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (overtime sometimes required)
Training: Yes, training will be provided

Description:

• Assist in setup, maintenance, and repair of automated systems
• Perform basic tasks such as wiring and replacing sensors
• Execute routine maintenance under close supervision
• Troubleshoot issues and report findings to senior staff
• Gain hands-on experience in automation technology
• Work with manufacturing and production equipment
• Learn from and support experienced technicians

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Industrial Automation

OR

• Applicable trade certificate (Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronic)

Experience Preferred:

• PLC programming and robot programming experience advantageous
• Automotive sector experience preferred
• Highly advantageous: Kuka Robots, Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in various programming languages
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation processes
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings
• MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Project
• AutoCAD experience advantageous

Soft Skills:

• Strong project planning and organizational skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Effective written and verbal communication

Key Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and own transportation
• Willingness to travel (including international assignments up to 3 months)
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Strong personality with ability to work well in a team
