Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Slitter Extrusion Operators from the plastics industry for a position in eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal. Applicants must be from the manufacturing; steel; aluminium; plastics; food; fmcg; packaging industry heavy duty production machinery equipment environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience operating machinery in a FMCG or Packaging manufacturing environment
- Certificate or Diploma Plastic Manufacturing / Extrusion Operations advantageous
- Grade 12 with Maths
- Technically minded
- Food Safety Certificate
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to be self-directed and multitask
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to lead and manage the performance of others
- Timeliness
- Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane license and operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Applicants must be well spoken, self-driven to grow and develop within the Packaging Industry.
Skills And Knowledge:
The competencies essential to performing effectively in this role include:
ü Ability to identify HIRA
ü Learning, Informing, Reporting, Checking Objects
ü Supervising, Oral communication, Reviewing, Using Instruments, Teamwork, Following Instructions,
ü Checking Written Information, performing physical tasks, Using a Keyboard/Computer,
ü Calculating/Counting, use of company shift mobile.
ü Can Identify abnormalities & implement controls or countermeasures independently & efficiently.
ü Guide learners and assistant Operators
ü Participate in process improvement (QCDSM)
ü Delivery of process targets
Duties:
- Identify HIRA and inform SIC to revise HIRA list
- Maintain basic condition of machinery and report deviations to SIC to include in abnormality list.
- Maintain quality standards according to SOP, WI, ISO/FSMS & TQM.
- Communicate for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordin

Demonstrated social and intercultural competence. Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and project management methodologies. Proficient in Microsoft package, and Visio systems. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, multicultural environments. Strong analytical, goal-oriented, and structured mindset with enthusiasm for new challenges.
