Description
Minimum requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma, or 35 years relevant draughting experience
    (Water and wastewater experience is highly advantageous)
  • Strong experience in mechanical design and assemblies
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or BricsCAD and 3D modelling software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Working knowledge of pipe routing, sheet metal design, and manufacturing drawings
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across disciplines
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design layouts for water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Develop piping isometrics, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Assist with equipment selection and contribute to mechanical equipment R&D
  • Create 3D models of structural steel, piping systems, and sheet metal components
  • Prepare accurate manufacturing, fabrication, and installation drawings
  • Design sheet metal components and produce fabrication-ready documentation
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs)
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of water and wastewater treatment projects
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning in collaboration with project leads
  • Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying risks or delays
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, production teams, and site personnel
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain detailed records of project milestones, design changes, and revisions
  • Participate in site meetings and inspections to ensure alignment with design intent
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
