Facilities Engineer (12 - 24 Months)

REQUIREMENTS

• Affirmative Action South African citizens preferred
• Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc Degree or B.Tech Diploma)
• At least 3-5 years of  working experience
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Project management skills
• Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving
• Be a self-starter and able to work independently
• Knowledge of 3D-CAD will be advantageous

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and controlling routine and non-routine maintenance activities
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment are installed and maintained per the OHSE Act, national and local regulations and group standards
• Preparing, planning, prioritizing and justifying proposed Capex investment and overhead plans
• Preparing, monitoring and controlling maintenance budget spend
• Preparing infrastructure budgets and correctly utilizing resources in order to meet the timing
• Ensuring yearly calibration and certification of all test centre equipment according to IS09001
• Plan future installations and replacements by establishing requirements and conditions of equipment/ facilities/ processes in order to introduce new projects and ensure that equipment/ facilities are to the required standard
• Prepare cost estimations for installations by evaluating project requirements to assist management/ finance with project approvals
• Preparing tender documentation for purchasing
• Analysis and problem-solving of failed test centre equipment
• Designing in CAD (drafting) and developing of required test facilities and equipment, jigs and fixtures
