Financial Accountant (Hybrid) - Stellenbosch

Our client, a fast-growing fintech company operating in the digital payments and technology space, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their finance team based in Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and financial administration functions.
• Process journals, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow tracking.
• Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and capture financial data on accounting systems.
• Assist with financial reporting and management accounts preparation.
• Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years’ accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience working on accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within fintech, technology, digital services, or a fast-paced commercial environment will be advantageous.

Experience and Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Exposure to reconciliations, creditors, debtors, journals, and month-end procedures.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
