Operational Accountant

A leading player in the Mining/Engineering/Manufacturing space is seeking a technically strong Operational Accountant. This role is ideal for someone with a completed BCom who enjoys both financial fundamentals and operational exposure. Youll work closely with production, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, clean reconciliations, and meaningful financial insights that support business performance.

This opportunity is perfect for an Accountant who enjoys being connected to the heartbeat of operations while maintaining control over key financial processes in a demanding, "hardcore" industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full financial function exposure, including GL, reconciliations, trial balance, and reporting
• Operational finance: Partner with plant/site/production teams for cost and performance insights
• Controls & Compliance: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial processing
• Reporting: Assist with monthly management packs and operational financial analysis
• Contribution: Support the continuous improvement of financial and operational processes
• Full financial function exposure & hands-on operational involvement

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Qualification: BCom & articles (preferred)
• Experience: 35 years post-articles experience
• Industry: Mining / Engineering / Manufacturing
• Technical: Strong recon skills, GL management, and solid operational finance exposure
• Profile: Detail-oriented, resilient, hands-on, and comfortable working close to operations
