Senior Accountant (IFRS16) (Logistics and Courier

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end accounting activities, including journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations
• Oversee IFRS 16 accounting, lease reporting, and compliance requirements
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful management reporting
• Maintain fixed asset registers, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and asset controls
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting requirements
• Manage VAT, income tax submissions, and correspondence with SARS
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to branches and operational stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and internal controls
• Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, POPIA requirements, and company policies

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA Articles advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a full-function accounting environment
• Proven experience managing both internal and external audit processes
• Strong working knowledge and practical application of IFRS 16
• Experience with VAT, Income Tax submissions, and SARS engagements
