Financial Manager

A leading organisation within the aviation and operational services industry is seeking a Finance Manager specialising in cost and management accounting. The business consists of multiple smaller group entities, each requiring strong reporting oversight, cost discipline and financial governance.

In this role, you will oversee inventory processing, lead financial reporting cycles, manage cost performance and support both internal and external stakeholders. You will also guide a finance team responsible for reconciliations, systems alignment and statutory compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership role with significant involvement in budgeting, forecasting, stock analysis, audit readiness, regulatory interactions and driving consistent application of financial policies across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and cashflow projections for group companies
• Oversee inventory transactions and ensure accurate reconciliation between operational and finance systems
• Drive automation and integration across processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Manage accounting processes and monthly reporting for smaller group entities
• Prepare audit schedules and ensure audit readiness across all relevant business units
• Maintain strong cost control, working capital discipline and accurate accruals
• Lead, coach and guide the accounting team, setting clear goals and expectations
• Drive accountability, monitor team outputs and enforce finance deadlines and policies
• Manage monthly and quarterly reporting, ensuring accuracy and IFRS compliance
• Report on inventory movements, direct operating costs and key financial variances
• Present variance analysis and actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with auditors, ensuring timely query resolution
• Engage stakeholders across operations, supply chain, commercial and finance divisions
• Collaborate with external partners, regulators and service providers to address finance-related matters
• Support negotiations and reviews of financial terms with accurate reconciliations and data
• Participate in discussions with regulatory authorities on pricing structures and statutory charges
• Ensure accurate billing, accruals, allocations and statutory compliance for group entities
• Uphold adherence to finance policies, raising exceptions to senior leadership when necessary

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BCom in Finance or Accounting (essential)
• 10 years finance experience, with at least 3 years in management
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African reporting requirements
• Proven experience reconciling data across multiple financial and operational systems
