Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management with reliable financial information. This role offers strong exposure to manufacturing operations, cost control, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of variances
• Inventory accounting, cost of sales analysis, and stock reconciliations
• Fixed asset management, including depreciation and asset registers
• VAT returns and tax compliance
• Support external audits and statutory reporting
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education:
  • BCom in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
• Experience:
  • Minimum 35 years experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is essential
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting
  • Exposure to audits and statutory reporting
• Skills:
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience working on ERP systems (manufacturing modules advantageous)
• Other non-negotiables:
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
