Our client in the Manufacturing Industry, based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Shift Supervisor.

Requirements:
- 5 years of supervising a team involved in the Quality process of any automotive components that meets stringent customer quality requirements i.e., IATF 16949, etc.
- Tertiary Engineering Qualification (Mechanical/Electrical Trade Certificate and/or ND Mechanical/Electrical).
- A tertiary qualification in the Production or Quality or Operations Management field will be an added advantage.
- Experience in equipment set up through programming tools like Laptop and HMI will be advantageous.
- Experience in Camera systems will be advantageous.
- Technical knowledge of the Paint application quality assurance process would be an integral job requirement.
- Good decision-making skills and the ability to handle pressure are both essential criteria for success in this vital position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery of good quality products per Customer requirements to the Customer.
- Ensuring shift Targets are met with accordance to the planning schedule & housekeeping maintained.
- Making sure all Pallets are Labelled correctly and all Scrap is identified and verified.
- Making sure all reworks are done on shift and that all non-conforming products are booked on Haldan System.
- Monitoring and analysing the current system of production to check if it’s effectiveness.
- Control the logistics of the department by ensuring operators have necessary resources and equipment.
- Develop employee training plan and update training records according to company Training Plan.
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards, policies, and regulations.
- Drive First Time Pass Rate improvements and communicate with other department Leaders.
- Manage all Internal performance monitoring systems (OEE, SCADA, WMS)
- Ensuring that all daily counts are completed and captured accurately.
- Ensuring 5`S in Final View WIP areas.

Job Description and Responsibilities
Ensuring that all Paint shop electrical installations and PLC systems are maintained to company standards and requirements in order to ensure safe plant operation by means of structured maintenance systems such as PM’s, check lists, weekend work job cards etc.
Recommending, updating and modifying electrical installations to the latest engineering technology in order to stay in line with the latest technologies available on the market by constantly dealing with external suppliers and similar industrial companies.
Maintaining of electrical equipment to meet the required health & safety standards to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
Making the necessary adjustments to facilities such as conveyor speeds, fan speeds, system pressures, tank levels etc. by means of PLC settings, controller adjustments and thereafter verify that the adjustments produced the required outcome by measuring the output performance/parameters.
Carrying out planned maintenance activities using the correct tools and testing equipment according to company systems, processes and procedures to ensure that all equipment is serviced at the required intervals as determined from time to time by the maintenance planner / original equipment supplier.
Activating participation on daily basis in the Shop Floor Management structure. This includes sectional meetings and problem resolution activities/implementation as driven by the team.
Education and Experience
NN Diploma/ National Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (light current) / MechatronicsTrade test certificate Electrician /MillwrightMinimum 2-4years’ proven operations and maintenance experience within in the manufacturing environmentGood experience in VSD control system (Danfoss & SEW)Automation experience & Certified training (PLC’s Drives, etc.).
