General Manager
Java Bistro is looking for an experienced, hands-on, and motivated General Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our busy restaurant.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years experience as a Restaurant General Manager.
* Experience managing a high-volume restaurant.
* Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
* Knowledge of Pilot POS (advantageous).
* Experience with stock control, stock takes, costing, and GP management.
* Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and manage staff.
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
* Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
* Computer literate with strong administrative skills.
* Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
* Reliable transport.
* Must reside in or near Stellenbosch.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
* Lead, train, and develop both front and back-of-house teams.
* Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
* Oversee staff scheduling and daily operations.
* Manage stock control, stock takes, ordering, and supplier relationships.
* Monitor food cost, labour cost, and overall profitability.
* Review and verify daily cash-up reports, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and hygiene standards.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service, and food quality.
* Resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
* Drive sales and continuously improve restaurant performance.
Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
Start Date: Immediately.
