Our client in Benoni is looking to fill a position for a Nationals Sales Manager to build and maintain a high performance sales organization to effectively achieve business objectivesROLE DESCRIPTION:Create and implement effective direct sales strategies and lead nationwide direct sales personnel toward achievement of corporate sales objectives.Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization.Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.Provide sales management, budget control, compensation programs and incentive planning.Manage to meet / exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales staff.Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews.Proactively identify changes in the automotive aftermarket, and apply, develop and modify competitive strategies and tactics accordingly.Maintain competitive market intelligence and knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies.Key accounts management and relationship (in conjunction with the Key Accounts Manager) – Corporate and Strategic Accounts.Franchise management and relationship (in conjunction with the Franchise Manager) – Franchise and Channel managementREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree / diploma in business or sciences8 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in managing a direct sales force (15 people or more).Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team.Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, email, etc.Ability to travel within South Africa and immediate bordering countries – estimated to be 50% or more.Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management, including at EXCO / Board level.
