The purpose of the role is for the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment across a variety of environments. The Technician will work directly with customers to minimise machine downtime and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently according to manufacturer standards.The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and hands-on technician with strong fault-finding ability, a proactive mindset, and a customer-centric approach. A professional, reliable, and approachable personality is essential.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose and repair machinery, including hydraulic and electrical systemsSet up and calibrate new and existing equipment, ensuring it operates according to manufacturer instructionsAssess faulty equipment using in-field experience to successfully identify and resolve problemsAdhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environmentRecord maintenance activities, machine performance data, and repair logs accuratelyCommunicate with customers in a comprehensive and honest manner and produce basic reportsWork collaboratively with the customer base to optimise machine repair time and efficiencyOperate across multiple environments, including marine, heavy industrial, pig and poultry farms, small industry, and dairiesComply with industry-specific HACCP and safety protocols, including undergoing inductions, passing drug tests, and health tests where requiredCriteria:Proven track record in a similar technical role (e.g. water purification, compressors, pumps, or related industries)Matric or equivalent qualificationCertification in industrial technology or a related mechanical field (preferred)Proven experience as a machine technician or in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing or maintenance environmentStrong understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, electrical and electronicsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and electrical schematicsStrong problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detailValid EB drivers licenseAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication skills in both Afrikaans and English, written and verbalPhysical ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items (40kg+), work at heights (ladders 6m+), operate in high noise environments, and work around machinery
