Are you a master of the needle and thread? We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate Tailor to join our team. We specialize in high-quality garments, which means we need someone who isn't just "good" with a sewing machine, but someone who understands the soul of the fabric.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality alterations on various garments, ranging from structured suits to flowing evening wear.Expertly handle delicate textiles, specifically silk, satin, and chiffon.Conduct client fittings with a focus on drape, movement, and precision.Execute advanced finishing techniques like French seams and hand-rolled hems.Repair and restore garments while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
What We’re Looking For:
Technical Mastery: Proven experience in professional tailoring (minimum 2 years).Silk Specialization: You must be comfortable cutting, pinning, and sewing silk without snagging, puckering, or staining the fabric.The "Touch": An understanding of how different weights of silk (from Charmeuse to Organza) behave under the needle.Precision: Proficiency in hand-stitching and using specialized feet/needles for fine fabrics.Problem Solving: Ability to advise clients on what is (and isn't) possible with delicate garment construction.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Curtain Maker / Seamstress to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate must be skilled in measuring, cutting, and sewing curtains and soft furnishings to a high professional standard.Key Responsibilities
Measure windows and spaces accurately on-site (if required)
Calculate fabric requirements
Cut fabric according to measurements and specifications
Sew curtains, sheers, linings, pelmets, and other soft furnishings
Operate industrial sewing machines including:
Blind stitch machine
Overlocker
Bartacker
Straight stitch machine
Ensure high-quality finishing and attention to detail
Work efficiently to meet deadlines
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience as a curtain maker / seamstress
Experience working with industrial sewing machines
Ability to read and interpret measurements and specifications
Strong attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Good communication skills
Advantageous
Experience with blinds and other window treatments
Knowledge of different curtain headings and styles
RemunerationSalary will be market-related and based on experience.
