Minimum Requirements:At least 8 years experience as a qualified mechanic with excellent diagnostic abilityProven Suzuki brand experience will be advantageousSolid knowledge of fault finding and diagnostic machinesSuccessful demonstration of diagnostic abilityComputer Literacy Proficient Industry legislative compliance/ knowledge Key Responsibilities: Inspect petrol engines for defects or malfunctioning and diagnose problems with the help of computerized diagnostic equipmentPerform different routine tasks, like changing oil and filtersRepair or replace faulty components of the engineTest vehicles so that they may be performed efficiently after repairsOptimize the power output and fuel efficiency by adjusting the engine controlsBrake service and repair on petrol-powered vehiclesRebuild or replace the transmission or parts in the powertrainEvacuate malfunctions in electrical systemsService and repair exhaust gas and emission control systemsRepair and maintenance of ac and heating systems in Petrol enginesFabricate parts and components when the frame or parts of the vehicles are severely damaged and weakened welding equipmentFollow and interpret the reading in the technical manuals for proper repair and serviceKeep records of repairs and servicingCounsel customers on problems and required repairs on their vehiclesEstimate cost and time for jobsOrder supplies, parts, maintain inventoryMaintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas and toolsComply with safety procedures and regulationsPreventive maintenance to minimize breakdownsUpgrade or retrofit older petrol engines to meet current emissions standardsTroubleshoot problems in hydraulic systems of construction equipment and repair themMentor junior mechanics or even train apprenticesBe in line with the newest technologies trickle-down in petrol engines and new servicing/repair techniques.Ability to:Diagnose mechanical difficulties.Understand, follow and apply oral and written instructions.Use specialised tools and equipment in performing vehicle maintenance, servicing & repair.Work cooperatively and effectively with others.Perform heavy manual labour within established Health & Safety practicesMust be willing to work Overtime & on Weekends.Must have own reliable transport.
