Are you passionate about technology and eager to start your career in IT? We’re looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to join our small team and provide first-line technical support to our users. For this role you’ll be based at home. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning on the job, and helping others with technology.What You’ll Do• Provide first-line technical support to clients via phone, email, remote tools, and onsite visits• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues across multiple client environments• Log, track, and resolve support requests • Set up and configure workstations, laptops, printers, and user devices for clients• Assist with user account management, password resets, and access requests• Support Microsoft 365, email, and other common business applications• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients at all times• Document issues, resolutions, and procedures accurately• Carry out routine maintenance at clientsWhat We’re Looking For• Basic understanding of IT fundamentals (hardware, operating systems, networking)• Familiarity with Windows and macOS environments• Strong customer service and communication skills• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client requests• Willingness to learn and adapt to different client systems and technologies• Professional attitude and a client-first mindset• Relevant IT qualification, certification, or studies (advantageous but not essential)Requirements• Strong verbal and written communication (English)• Must have own reliable transport (car/bakkie/van)• Must have own laptop which will be secured to access company/client data (A company laptop will be provided after a 3-month probation period) • Must be able to work flexible hours between (08:30-17:00) on weekdays • Reliable fiber internet at home• Good people skills (needed for client relations)• Presentable when seeing clientsNice to Have• CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification• Experience in a helpdesk or support environment• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or ticketing systems• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Exposure to general IT infrastructureWhy Join Us?• Exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments• Structured learning and mentorship from experienced IT professionals• A creative environment where your ideas/approaches matter and you’ll always be able to voice them• Clear career progression within a growing IT support team• Get access to the full Microsoft 365 Business software suite• Hands-on experience that accelerates technical and professional growth• Exposure to various interesting projects not usually handled by an IT Support Consultancy• Supportive, small team-oriented work cultureRemuneration: R8k-R10k Send your CV to careers@horizoncomputers.co.za
