Our
client requires someone who knows their wood and how
it’s graded and is familiar with kiln-drying and controlling a stocktake. The stock controller will operate as part of
the team at a small sawmill in the forests of the Knysna/Sedgefield area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kiln-drying
Wood
grading / bundling
Liaising
with third-party kiln operations
Sorting
and keeping stocklists of wood
Processing
orders
Supervising
loading / unloading / despatching
Managing
a team of labourers at the mill.
Keep
control of client orders.
Write
up stock.
Liaise
with head office regarding administration.
PERSONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
N.B.: You must know your wood and how it’s graded and be familiar with
kiln-drying and controlling a stocktake.
Matriculation
At
least 5 years’ experience in the timber industry.
Driver’s
licence with PDP – will drive a bakkie and collect staff.
Good
communication skills in Afrikaans and English, and confident when discussing orders with sawmilling
operations.
Methodical,
patient with other staff,

leader.
Respectful, responsible and
reliable.
OTHER:
The successful
