LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER (ONE POST)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
* Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
* Mentoring and supervising postgraduate students;
* Actively conducting independent and collaborative research and publishing research outputs in accredited journals;
* Developing and/or expanding collaboration with academics internationally;
* Initiating and delivering specialist courses at national and international levels;
* Active participation in administrative duties within the Department.

*Lecturer:*
* A Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics/Statistics that include a credit bearing research dissertation and credit bearing course work consisting of core components which aligns with the required responsibilities of the incumbent;
* An indication of an emerging research career with evidence of accredited publications in core components of the discipline contributing to the literature and scientific field of mathematical statistics/statistics; at least one recent (past three years) publication in mathematical statistics/statistics in an accredited peer viewed journal;
* Enrolled for a PhD degree in Mathematical Statistics /Statistics with proof of significant progression with the study;
* Evidence of papers presented at national conferences;
* Proven competency and prior experience of at least three years is required in:
* Teaching of mathematical statistics/statistics at undergraduate and (or) postgraduate levels as a lecturer;
* Demonstrable advanced knowledge of at least one major statistical software programming language;
* Indication of the implementation of efficient teaching models that would be applicable in the university setting.
*Senior Lecturer **(same as for Lecturer, PLUS)**:*
* A Doctoral degree in Mathematical Statistics/Statistics combined with a Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics/Statistics that include a credit bearing research dissertation and credit bearing course work consisting of core components which aligns with the required responsibilities of the incumbent;
* Proven record of curriculum development at the undergraduate and postgraduate level or other specialized professional courses;
* Evidence of papers presented at national and international conferences;
* An indication of an emerging research career with evidence of accredited publications in core components of the discipline contributing to the literature and scientific field of mathematical statistics/statistics; at least three recent (past three years) publications in mathematical statistics/statistics in high ranked accredited peer viewed journals;

Unica Iron and Steel (Pty) Ltd in Babelegi, Hammanskraal (Pretoria) seeks to hire suitable candidates for two positions* Storeman. *The successful candidates will report to the Stores Manager.
* The main responsibility of this position is to effectively receive, store and issue raw materials and engineering spares into the stores to ensure that factory operations are not hampered by unnecessary shortages of these materials.
*Receiving*:
* All deliveries must be delivered at the stores by the receiving counter with other delivery note or tax invoice.
* Ensure that goods are received of the correct quantity.
* Ensure that all administration work for receiving, is up to date and provided to accounts for billing purposes.
* All goods received may only be received against an official purchase order. If no PO is available, one has to be received from the buyer or permission must be requested from the store’s manager if goods can be received.
* Receive and control diesel and oils.
* All spares must be placed at the receiving area for binning purposes.
* Copy of goods receiving note and delivery note or tax invoice must be filed for audit trail purposes.
* After hours deliveries are not permitted unless prior arrangements had been made with stock Controller.
*Binning*:
* All received stock must be binned in the correct area.
* Stock must be binned within 24 hours after receipt.
* All spare parts to be checked against existing parts before binning.
* Storage of stock as per required packing procedure and subsequent safety for both human and stock.
* If the spare doesn’t match the one existing in the bin the must be isolated to the holding or quarantine.
* All non-conformance materials must be handed to stores manager.
* Ensure all stock is correctly identified and labelled.
* To manage and monitor all stock in terms of raw materials, liaising closely with management ordering purposes.
*Issuing and Stock returns*:
* To ensure that the accuracy of the physical stock in the stores tallies with the system stock.
* Validate internal requisition form and check if items are available in stores.
* If the items requested are available on stock, the store man shall retrieve the items from the bins.
* Both the store man and the requester must sign the goods issue note, the former as proof of goods issued and the latter as acknowledgement of goods received.
* Liaising with user department for any unexpected changes in materials demand.
* File goods issue note, manual requisition with the relevant signatures.
* Prioritize decision making after normal working hours.
* Prepare shipping memo or gate release for IBT issuance to Unica1
* Monitoring of stock to requisition when material reach E.O.Q
* All defective spares must be sent to stores for repair.
