Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Qualified Diesel Mechanic with proven experience working on excavators and skid steer loaders. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of hydraulic systems, be able to diagnose faults efficiently, and carry out repairs and maintenance to a high standard. This role requires someone who is hands-on, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered machinery, specifically excavators and skid steers
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and valves
Identify mechanical and electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs
Maintain accurate service records and job reports
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards
Attend breakdowns on-site when required
Minimum Requirements:
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (relevant trade certification)
Proven experience working on excavators and skid steer loaders
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
Basic electrical fault-finding ability (advantageous)
Valid South African driver’s licence (essential)
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
