Isuzu has officially launched its brand-new seventh generation D-Max bakkie in South Africa.
The 24-strong line-up consists of five single cabs, six extended cabs, and 11 double cab derivatives available with two diesel engine options, five specification levels, manual and automatic transmissions, and comes in 4x2 or 4x4 guise.
A 1.9-litre diesel engine is standard on all single cab models, extended and double cab derivatives. It produces a maximum power output of 110kW and 350Nm. A 3.0-litre unit is available on mid to high-series extended and double cab models that deliver 140kW and 450Nm. Either power unit can be paired to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The exterior is kitted with bi-LED projector headlights and LED daytime running lights complimented by LED tailights, and an integrated LED high-mount brake light at the rear. The new load box design features more loading space, with up to 15mm added to the bed floor length and an extra 30mm in depth for the box sides with a 1 530mm width.
Standard convenience and safety features in an AM/FM radio with an integrated CD player and Bluetooth, manual air-conditioning, an immobiliser and tilt and telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, and follow me home headlights, driver and driver and passenger airbags, and ABS with EBD and brake assist. Also added to the mix are Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Trailer Sway Control.

Trim levels
These derivatives come standard with:
L - Anti-theft alarm, power windows and satellite audio controls on the steering wheel and ISOFIX child seat anchors in the double cab models.
LS - 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch screen for the infotainment system with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, six speakers, USB ports in the front and rear, cruise control, seven airbags, halogen daytime running lights, a rear-view camera and black side steps.
LSE - 18-inch wheels, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, a 9-inch infotainment system, eight speakers, Passive Entry Start System, LED head and tailights, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, front and rear park assist, a tow bar, roof rails and a chrome tubular sports bar.
V-Cross - Leather seats with eight-way power adjustment, Isuzu’s Advanced Driver Assist System, eight airbags, automatic high beam activation. The exterior features gun metallic finishes for the grille, fender flares, door handles, mirror caps, roof rails and hooped sports bar.
The range comes with a five-year or 120 000km warranty, inclusive of roadside assistance, as well as a five-year unlimited distance anti-corrosion warranty. Also included is a five-year or 90 000km service plan that can be extended to six years or 200 000km or upgraded to a full maintenance plan.
