General Details
Description
A leading engineering/manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support SHEQ compliance, drive safety culture, and ensure effective implementation of the companys Health & Safety Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and safety audits
- Identify hazards and enforce corrective/preventive actions
- Monitor adherence to safe work procedures across operations
- Maintain and update H&S policies, procedures, registers, and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis
- Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and compliance training
- Analyse safety data and trends to support continuous improvement
- Work with HR on injury-on-duty processes and reporting
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- SAMTRAC / PSIRA / relevant Health & Safety qualification
- 5+ years experience in a similar role (engineering or manufacturing preferred)
- Solid understanding of OHS legislation and industry standards
- Experience managing a Health & Safety Management System
- Strong skills in risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response
