CNC MACHINE OPERATOR- JACOBS DURBAN

We are currently looking for a CNC Machine Operator

Duties & Responsibilities
Operate laser cutting machinery to cut and shape materials as per program and job specifications.
Review and interpret technical drawings, job instructions, and cutting programs.
Ensure materials are loaded correctly and securely before starting the cutting process.
Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required to maintain precision.
Maintain laser equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
Identify and report any machine faults, deviations, or potential quality issues to the supervisor.
Ensure optimal use of materials and minimize waste during production.
Adhere to company safety standards, operating procedures, and housekeeping requirements.
Support continuous improvement by identifying areas for process efficiency and quality enhancement.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
Certificate or diploma in mechanical engineering, fabrication, or a related field (advantageous).
Proven experience operating laser cutting machines .
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting programs.
Strong understanding of material types (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, etc.).
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CNC or CAD/CAM software.
Good understanding of workplace safety and quality control procedures.
