Proposals Engineer

Responsible for preparing detailed project cost estimates and comprehensive proposals for electrical and automation tenders. This role involves collaborating with sales, engineering, and other teams to understand client requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. The Proposal Engineer analyzes requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs), reviews technical requirements and drawings, and coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain necessary information.

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (compulsory)
• BTech in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
• ECSA membership / Member of a proposals professional body (advantageous)

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

• 3-5 years experience of formal tender estimating and pricing bids and proposal experience in an electrical engineering environment, industrial electrical projects and tenders, including experience with MCC and PLC projects.
• 3.5 years experience in reading and analysing RFPs and RFQs.
• Experience with reading and analyzing technical requirements and drawings, with knowledge of variable speed drives and SCADA systems.
• Experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry (advantageous).
