Project Engineer

My client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Fourways. This role focuses on delivering industrial automation and system integration projects that support clients on their digital transformation journey. You will work with leading automation platforms and OEM technologies to design, implement, and commission solutions across a range of industries. The position involves developing technical documentation, ensuring quality and compliance, and engaging with clients and project teams to deliver projects on time and to specification. Depending on your experience, you may join as a Junior, Project, or Senior Engineer, with opportunities to grow into a leadership role.

Education & Skills:

• NQF Level 6 or higher in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, or Computer Science Engineering.
• 16 years of experience in automation system projects (Junior / Project / Senior Engineer levels available).
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• PLC and SCADA programming experience.
• Knowledge of MES, IIoT, and project management tools (MS Excel and MS Project).
• Understanding of procurement, risk management, and Health & Safety.
• OEM certifications in automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, AVEVA, Schneider Electric, Rockwell, Adroit, and Mitsubishi) advantageous.

• Understand project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Plan, develop, and implement automation and control system solutions.
• Produce accurate technical drawings and project documentation.
• Perform onsite commissioning and provide technical support.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients, partners, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Report progress, risks, and variations to project leadership.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge and maintain relevant certifications.
• Contribute to process improvements and share engineering expertise.
• Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expenses, and document management.
