Raw Materials Technologist

Operations

Ensure that all packaging and carbon dioxide meet stringent food safety, quality, regulatory & customer

standards. Contributing to the production of high-quality raw materials

Job Purpose

Monitoring, testing, and verifying the quality of preforms, closures and CO2 throughout the production

process to prevent defects, ensure compliance with specifications, and minimize business risks. Conduct

inspections and analyses to maintain product consistency, traceability, and adherence to customer and

legal requirements, ultimately protecting the brand's reputation and consumer safety.

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

Raw Material Inspection

  • Conduct inspection of raw materials received pertaining to the manufacture of preforms and closures
  • Ensuring compliance to buying specifications
  • Ensure that resin conforms to IV and AA standards
  • Raise NCRs pertaining to any deviations/nonconformities with raw materials such as resin

Finished Product Evaluation

Preforms

  • Conduct tests on preforms to determine weight and length conform to specification
  • Test for ovality, IV and AA
  • Inspect preforms for defects such as cracks, holes or perforations, damaged thread finish, broken/cracked neck flange, presence of foreign materials, haziness and other defects
  • Inspect preforms for defects such as nicks, warping, or dimensional inaccuracies that could affectblow-moulding and sealing.
  • Perform Sensory Analysis for foreign odours and ensure colour conforms to standard
