Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting with Fabrication and Assembly:

• Assist qualified boilermakers with the fabrication and assembly of tanks, vessels, structural steel, and manufacturing components.
• Support with measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting metal components.
• Handle materials and tools required for fabrication activities.

Maintenance and Repairs Support:

• Assist during routine maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and fabricated structures.
• Support cleaning, preparation, and removal of damaged components under supervision.

Welding and Cutting Assistance:

• Assist with basic welding and cutting operations using grinders, oxyfuel cutting equipment, and other tools.
• Prepare workpieces before and after welding activities.

Safety Compliance:

• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety standards.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Material Handling and Housekeeping:

• Load, move, and position materials safely within the workshop or site.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.

Teamwork and Communication:

• Work closely with boilermakers, supervisors, and production teams.
• Follow instructions accurately and report any safety concerns.

Experience & Qualification

• 1 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or fabrication environment.
• Basic boilermaker or mechanical training will be advantageous.
• Medically fit and physically able to perform manual labour. Strong understanding of machining processes and material properties.
• Valid Forklift Operator and/or Overhead Crane Operator certification will be advantageous
