An opportunity exists for a senior Logistics Executive to take full ownership of logistics and distribution within a high-volume FMCG cold chain environment. Permanent employment based in Northern KZN. This is a strategic + operational leadership role, responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective and time-critical delivery of perishable goods across distribution networks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full responsibility for logistics strategy and execution
• Oversee distribution, transport planning, routing and fleet coordination
• Manage cold chain compliance and temperature-controlled logistics
• Optimize delivery schedules, route planning and cost efficiencies
• Lead and manage logistics, dispatch and transport teams
• Monitor KPIs: delivery turnaround times, fuel usage, vehicle utilization
• Implement systems and controls to reduce losses and inefficiencies
• Coordinate closely with production, warehouse and sales teams
• Manage third-party transporters and service providers
• Budget management and cost control across logistics operations
• Ensure compliance with safety, legal and transport regulations
• Continuous improvement of logistics systems and processes

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Degree / Diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain / Transport Management
• 810+ years experience in FMCG logistics (cold chain highly advantageous)
• Proven experience at management / executive level
• Strong fleet and distribution management experience
• Experience with logistics systems / ERP / route planning tools
• Strong leadership and people management capability
• High-level analytical and operational planning skills
• Financial and cost management experience
• Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
• Stable employment history required
• Traceable & contactable references
• Local residency or relocation required
