Purpose of the role

The van assistant plays a key role in day-to- day operations of the business. The role of the van assistant is to assist the driver with loading and unloading the vehicle, delivering products to clients and customers as well as recording delivery logs.

Subordinates: NOT APPLICABLE

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist driver to make deliveries to all clients and customers on the route.

· Assist the driver to load the vehicle.

· Organizing delivery routes by assisting in arranging items in the van for efficient access and route planning

· Ensure correct goods are loaded into the vehicle.

· Ensure safe and efficient delivery of goods and products.

· Adhere to all safety procedures, personal safety, and hygiene during loading, unloading and transit

· Communicate with clients, dispatch and customers in a courteous manner.

· Maintain client and customer confidentiality.

· Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles by keeping the vehicles and equipment clean and orderly

· Adhere to all safety procedures, personal safety, and hygiene during loading, unloading and transit

· Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported.

Skills and Qualifications:

· A valid Matric Certificate.

· Customer Focused

· Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

· Accurate and attention to detail.

· Able to work under pressure.

· Able to work in a team.

· Physically fit.

· Time Management, supporting timely deliveries by staying organized and efficient.
