Workshop Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and prioritize preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime
• Monitor job progress and ensure adherence to deadlines
• Manage maintenance and repairs for Heavy trucks, trailers, LDVs and vehicles
• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs
• Lead, mentor and supervise mechanics, technicians and apprentices
• Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Manage workshop budget and control maintenance costs
• Maintain critical spare parts inventory
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and service logs
• Manage personnel: Schedules, Leave, and all other parameters

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 Senior Certificate
• Qualified trade tested Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum 810 years supervisory and management experience in truck maintenance workshop
• Strong knowledge of: Hydraulic systems, Diesel engines, and all related systems
• Strong knowledge of Trucks and Bakkies, Auto Electrical & Workshop Financial Management processes.
• Valid drivers license (Code 10/14 advantageous).
• Must be assertive, demonstrate high integrity, be outgoing and resilient.
• Must be decisive and self-motivated.
• Good communication skills, innovative thinking, strong conceptual and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail.

Remuneration:

Highly negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
