Guesthouse Manager - Guesthouse

A popular Guesthouse located in Cape Town is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Guesthouse Manager to lead the daily operations of our premier accommodation. This is a hands-on leadership role for a proactive professional with a proven track record in hospitality.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of management experience within the hotel or guesthouse industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• OTA & Revenue Management: Manage and optimize all online travel agency (OTA) listings (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com). Ensure compelling content, update calendars, and assist with dynamic pricing strategies.

• Reservation System: Oversee the central reservation application (PMS/Channel Manager) that syncs all OTAs, processing all bookings and ensuring calendar accuracy.

• Staff & Operations Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and manage all staff. Directly oversee the cleaning schedule to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and preparedness.

• Guest Service & Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for guest inquiries and issues. Enforce all guesthouse rules professionally and ensure a safe, comfortable environment.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Managing Director to implement operational strategies, report on KPIs (occupancy, revenue), and optimize guesthouse performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of hospitality management experience.
  

• Minimum qualification: Diploma or higher

• Proven, hands-on expertise with major OTAs and Property Management Systems.

• Strong leadership skills with experience in hiring, training, and team management.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Tech-savvy, proactive, and flexible to work weekends/holidays as needed.
