Description
An Exciting opportunity has become available at an IT company in Sandton for a SQL DBA. This is a client facing role and SQL Server experience is a non-negotiable.
* User administration
* Change control
* Database documentation, including database operational standards and policies
* Disaster recovery planning
* Patch management of RDBMS
* SQL Best practice and optimisation.
* Development and testing support
* Performance analysis and tuning
* Diagnosing performance problems
* Optimisation of SQL queries
* Creating indexes for improved performance
* Suggesting table design changes to improve performance
* Creating backups and recovery testing of the backups
* Capacity planning for continued data growth
* Use of change logs to keep remote databases in sync.
* Exposure to working within the framework of accepted project management methodologies
* Willingness to perform tasks not directly related to job function in order to ensure timely and cost effective completion of the project
* Proven ability to assist team with investigation, analysis, design and delivery of solutions
* Ability to ensure delivery across multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong analytical and problem identification skills
* Ability to provide input into technical architecture decisions
* Ability to identify shortcoming and improve on current processes and standards
* Management of bug resolutions with vendor
* Willingness to travel
* Willingness to work after hours and fulfil possible standby requirements
• Minimum 5 years SQL Server database administration experience
• Minimum 3 year working experience with SQL 2012/2014/2016/2019
• Reporting Services/Power BI
• Integration Services
• All forms of SQL Replication
• Always On Availability Groups
• SQL Azure support
• SQL Server 2008/2012/and 2014/2016/2019)
• Transact-SQL
• Replication (Merge and Transactional)
R 60 000 to R 70 000 ctc per month
• Minimum 5 years SQL Server database administration experience
• Minimum 3 year working experience with SQL 2012/2014/2016/2019
