We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical SEO Specialist (Search Engine Optimization) based in Cape Town.
Responsibilities for SEO Specialist
- Develop optimisation strategies that increase the company's search engine results rankings
- Research keywords across all types
- Set measurable goals that demonstrate improvement in marketing efforts
- Identify and conduct audits across competitor profiles
- Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance
- Efficiently communicate with senior and heads of departments
- Write effective headlines, body copy, and websites. Write effective call-to-action.
- Collaborate with senior SEO strategists and heads of departments to manage SEO strategy
- Identify and apply compelling and high-quality website content, including blog posts and page descriptions (not copywriting)
- Update content and website links and provide actionable insights that improve search engine rankings
- Compile and present SEO performance reports.
- Use basic programming and web design skills to enhance SEO
- Produce, document and present advanced SEO strategies
Qualifications for SEO Specialist
- Three to five years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns
- Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
- Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools across all keyword types
- Able to complete competitive analysis of other companies within the industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, etc.)
- Write effective headlines, body copy, and websites. Write effective call-to-action
- Comfortable with writing strategies from high volumes of data
- Experience with all aspects of on-page SEO
- Experience with all aspects off-page SEO (Understanding of external link profiles, anchor text, placement, and authority metrics)
- Intricate knowledge of website structures and internal linking processes
- Technical SEO (good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Page speed optimization)
- Advanced Experience with tools and programs such as Majestic SEO, SEMrush, Search Console, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Excel)
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
