Project Planner

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner with strong proficiency in Microsoft Project (MSP) to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules within complex, multidisciplinary environmentspreferably within the mining sector. This role is critical in ensuring projects are planned, monitored, and executed efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project (MSP).
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather schedule requirements and incorporate them into the master project plan.
• Monitor project progress and provide accurate schedule forecasts, critical path analyses, and variance reports.
• Identify risks, delays, and opportunities, and recommend mitigation strategies to keep project timelines on track.
• Coordinate schedule updates during project meetings and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Provide clear, accurate reporting on planning metrics, milestones, and deadlines.
• Ensure that planning processes align with company policies, industry standards, and project governance requirements.
• Support cost, resource, and progress integration into the overall project control's function.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in project planning or scheduling.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project (MSP).
• Proven experience managing schedules for medium to large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the mining industry or other heavy industrial sectors (construction, engineering, energy, etc.).
• Relevant diploma in Project Management or related field.
• Professional certification(s) such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent (advantageous).
