Qualification
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Trade Tested Fitter & Turner / Toomaker
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating horizontal or vertical boring mills.
- Experience operating conventional centre lathes will be a distinct advantage.
- Experience machining large fabricated steel components.
- Experience in heavy engineering, mining, or hydraulic equipment manufacturing will be advantageous.
- Experience with line boring is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and fits.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment including: Verniers, Micrometers, Dial indicators, Bore gauges, Height gauges.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Ability to calculate speeds, feeds, and dimensions.
- Experience with conventional boring mills.
- Ability to independently set up and operate a conventional centre lathe, including turning, facing, drilling, boring, and threading operations (CNC machining experience will be advantageous.)
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience machining:
- Rock breaker booms.
- Hydraulic cylinders.
- Heavy mining equipment.
- Large welded fabrications.
- Pivot pin bores and bearing housings.
- Precision line boring and repair work.
- Conventional lathe machining of shafts, pins, bushes, sleeves, and other precision components.

Role Description The Service Foreman position

Key responsibilities include leading and supervising
the service team, providing technical support to technicians, ensuring
high-quality service and maintenance, diagnosing and resolving complex
refrigeration faults, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Daily responsibilities include assigning tasks,
inspecting completed work, liaising with clients, documenting service
activities, and providing technical guidance on complex faults and compile site
reports for service teams to action. The role also involves collaborating with
management on resource planning, maintaining tools and materials, and
supporting continuous improvement in service delivery and customer
satisfaction.
Qualifications
Qualified
Refrigeration Technician (trade qualification essential).Minimum
of 10 years’ experience in the refrigeration industry.Proven
CO2 refrigeration field experience is essential.Strong
supervisory skills, including team leadership, task allocation, and
performance monitoring.Excellent
diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Effective
communication skills for coordinating with service teams, management, and
clients.Experience
in maintenance activities, including preventative, corrective, and
emergency repairs.Previous
experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration service and fieldwork
is highly advantageous.Knowledge
of relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices within the
refrigeration or mechanical services industry.Valid
driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to client sites as
needed - Company Vehicle provided.PC Literacy essential.
