Technical Sales Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Technical Sales Estimator to join a fast-paced engineering environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with technical information, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations for equipment, spares, repairs, and breakdowns
• Compile detailed costings based on materials, labour, and supplier pricing
• Source and compare supplier quotes to ensure best pricing and lead times
• Liaise with internal teams (engineering, procurement, production) for technical input
• Manage and track enquiries and quotations through internal systems
• Follow up on quotations to drive order conversion
• Ensure confirmed orders are handed over efficiently for execution
• Maintain accurate records of quotations and costing data
• Assist in improving costing tools and quotation processes
• Provide support to sales and technical teams as required

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Mathematics essential)
• Relevant qualification in Technical Sales / Engineering (advantageous)
• Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel)
• Previous experience in costing, estimating, or technical internal sales (preferred)
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management ability
• Strong communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence
