Description
Minimum Requirements:
  • BEng / BTech / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years experience in estimating within an engineering, EPC, or mineral processing environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, process plants, piping, structural steel, and fabrication
  • Proven experience in compiling detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documentation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk assessment capability

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical and process plant projects
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements to determine scope and pricing
  • Develop detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) and pricing schedules
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain competitive quotations
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tenders
  • Support proposal submissions and provide technical clarification during tender adjudication
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure alignment between design and costing
